About The Gold Baron

The Gold Baron is a family-owned precious metals business founded by prospector Chris Burns. We offer collectible coins, gold and silver bullion, natural gold nuggets, Goldbacks, and handcrafted gold paydirt.

What began as a small paydirt operation has grown into something broader, but our purpose remains the same: connecting people to real gold through products that are authentic, interesting, and worth owning.

From the Claim to The Gold Baron

Our business began with gold paydirt made from material gathered from our family mining claim along the East Fork Lewis River in Washington State.

​

Making paydirt taught us that the experience depends on much more than simply placing gold in a bag. The balance of gravel and sand, the size and distribution of the gold, the difficulty of the material, and the way the gold reveals itself in the pan all matter. Each bag is made by hand with those details in mind.

As the business grew, our interest in gold naturally expanded beyond the pan. We began offering natural gold nuggets sourced directly from miners, followed by Goldbacks, bullion, and collectible coins. Gold Baron Paydirt became The Gold Baron, a name that better represents everything we now offer while preserving the prospecting roots from which the business began.

The Gold Baron is not intended to be a catalog of every available precious-metals product. We approach our selection as a curator would, looking beyond what something is to what makes it worth noticing, owning, or experiencing.

That distinction might come from a coin’s history, design, craftsmanship, rarity, or unusually low mintage. It might be found in the shape, character, origin, or provenance of a natural gold specimen. With our paydirt, it might be the experience created by the material, the gold, and the way the bag is designed to be worked.

We are also an authorized Goldback distributor and we source all of our nuggets, coins, and bullion from reputable companies.

These affiliations support our ability to offer authenticated collectibles, submit eligible coins and currency for professional grading, and source products through established industry relationships. More importantly, they reflect our commitment to handling every product honestly and accurately.
