Utah 3 Goldback - Limited Early Release (LER)
The Utah Limited Early Release (LER) is a special edition Goldback commemorating the refresh of the Utah series. While LER Goldbacks are primarily used to reward new merchant sign-ups, a limited number are also available for sale. As a colorized 3-denomination, this Goldback is highly sought after by both collectors and investors.
Only 4,000 have been minted. The California 3 Goldbacks offered by The Gold Baron are graded 70 Gem Uncirculated (a perfect grade) by PMG.
Artwork Description
The Limited Early Release (LER) Utah 3 Goldback depicts the virtue Celeritas, or Speed, as a 1930s racecar driver in a classic Hudson Speedster. Clad in vintage racing gear, she tears through the white expanse of Utah’s iconic Bonneville Salt Flats. This historic site became the ultimate proving ground, where drivers pushed the limits of engineering to set world land-speed records.
A flock of California seagulls—the Utah state bird—fly overhead. They symbolize the freedom of racing across open land and the split-second adaptability required to set world records. UV-reactive ink illuminates the car's headlights and reveals a racing flag flying behind the car.
Celeritas represents the relentless pursuit of progress that defined these early racers. Along the bottom is the enduring principle: “Do what must be done, without delay.”
