California 3 Goldback - Limited Early Release (LER)

The California Limited Early Release (LER) is a special edition Goldback commemorating phase one of the California series. While LER Goldbacks are primarily used to reward new merchant sign-ups, a limited number are also available for sale. As the first colorized 3-denomination, this Goldback is highly sought after by both collectors and investors.
 
Each California 3 Goldback is made of 3/1,000 of  a troy ounce of 24-karat gold. Limited to 8,000 individually numbered pieces, each California LER offered by The Gold Baron was professionally certified and encapsulated by Paper Money Guaranty (PMG) with a perfect grade of 70 Gem Uncirculated.

The California LER Goldback embodies the virtue Harmonia, or harmony, through a surfer riding a powerful ocean wave along California’s iconic coastline. For generations, the state’s beaches have shaped surfing culture, evolving from recreation to a lifestyle centered on a deep appreciation for the sea. The surfer moves gracefully through the water, representing the balance between humanity and nature.
 
Details throughout the artwork reinforce this theme of natural harmony. A dolphin swims alongside the surfer as a symbol of cooperation, while Brown Pelicans soar on coastal winds above. As California’s official state bird, the pelicans represent the rich wildlife that make the shoreline unique. The Santa Monica Pier stands in the distance, a beloved landmark symbolizing the state’s enduring relationship with the Pacific. In the ultraviolet artwork, a hidden sea turtle glides beneath the waves, offering a tribute to the remarkable marine life that inhabits California’s coastal waters.
